The Basics of The Wiki Bible Project

Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 3 months ago

Since this is a collaborative project, spanning the full gamut of believers across the wide spectrum of fellowship in Christ, it is necessary to set a few basics as we grow and maintain this project.

Basic One:  All Administrators, Moderators, and Contributors agree to abide by some simple rules of conduct.

Basic Two:  While there may be a wide range of diversity of belief to those that participate in this forum, let the following axioms form our basis for construction:

  1. We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Old and New Testaments and hold them to be the inherent Word of God.  2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 THESSALONIANS 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man.
  4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which resulted in separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed.
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative, substitutionary and complete sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
  6. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.
  7. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and, thereby, become children of God.
  8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.

Let us begin our discussion and development from these two basics, and agree on these.  Others may be implemented as our community grows and develops. If you would like to pursue becoming a contributor, please check out our FrontPage .

Blessings,
