Savior And Judge

Page history last edited by PBworks 16 years, 7 months ago

A young law school student was on his way to class on a cold, blustery day

in January.  As he was walking to class, he watched a young boy ice

skating on a pond.

To his amazement, the ice broke and the boy was drowning before his eyes.

Without hesitating, the young law student ran to his rescue.  He made his

way with bravery to the edge of the hole and saved the boy from certain

death.

Years went by and the law student became a very successful lawyer and was

eventually promoted to judge.  One day, a dirty, long-haired man was

brought before him for committing some serious crimes.  Right away the

judge remembered the man as the boy he saved the day at the pond.  He

called for the man to approach the bench.  When he did, the judge

said, "one day a long time ago I was your savior, but now I have become

your judge."

Jesus will be our judge one day as it is written in Romans 14:11-12 "As I

live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall

confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to

God."  I encourage you to live for the Lord.  Ask Him to guide your steps

and show you all that He wants you to do.  God is faithful to hear and

answer your prayers.

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him (Psalm 145:18) and is faithful

to cleanse us from all unrighteousness once we confess our sins to the

Lord (1 John 1:9).  I encourage you to seek the Lord and ask Him to come

into your heart and life if you have never done so before.  God is a

loving God and He loves you.  Never let anyone tell you that God doesn't

love you or that you are beyond saving.  Jesus loves you and He came to

Earth and died for you.  He will welcome you with arms stretched wide once

you call upon Him, just as a father welcomes their child.  He will come

into your life and be your Lord, Savior and Friend.  Jesus has done it for

millions of others and will do the same for you, because He loves you.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten

Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have

everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the

world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on

him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,

because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Romans 10:9-13 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;

and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture

saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no

difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is

rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name

of the Lord shall be saved."

Revelation 20:11-13 "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on

it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was

found no place for them.  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand

before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which

is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which

were written in the books, according to their works.  And the sea gave up

the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which

were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

All scriptures can be found in the King James Version.
