In especially trying times you should live more in the Word. You must put your faith in the Word. Then it wouldn't matter if everybody in the whole World backslides, if everybody in the whole World goes haywire, if the whole Heavens & the whole Earth pass away, you'll still keep going for God if your faith is in the Word!--No matter what happens, you will still stand if you stay on the firm foundation of God's Word! I can fail, you can fail, the whole World can fail, but God's Word will never fail! When everything is in chaos, & it seems like all is confusion & stormy -- retreat into the Word.
Often if it were not for that tiny spark of faith, you'd just flicker out. When you get re-inspired it's like God blowing on a little ember & bringing it back to life again. It comes so much through hearing the Word. "Faith cometh by hearing the Word!" (Romans 10:17) His Word is always a comfort, & the voice of His Spirit is always an encouragement in the hour of greatest trial. -- Even when everything seems to have gone wrong & you're in danger, trouble or distress.
Isn't it wonderful to have God's Word for our encouragement? Thank God for the comfort of His Word!
Jesus, I thank You so much that You understand me and love me. I thank You that even when I don't know what to say to express my love and thanks to You, You understand and You have compassion and mercy. Your mercy is so great, it is incomprehensible, it is indescribable, and it is renewed for me every morning.
Every day is a new day. You don't remember my past sins; You don't remember the things that I've done wrong. You make every morning new, every day fresh, so that I can start over again and continue to love You.
I thank You that I don't have to be worried about what I have done in the past—the times I've erred and strayed and haven't loved You like I should. Thank You that You forgive, and that I can just do my best today and love You with all of my heart. Thank You that You make it so easy for me and that I can simply take it one day at a time. I don't even have to worry about the whole day; I can take it one minute at a time.
I love You so much, and I want to spend time with You. I want to love You and be with You always.
