Don't Let The Devil Sidetrack You

Don't Let The Devil Sidetrack You Into Anything Less Than God's Best

Did you know you can even be tempted sometimes to do good things which aren't necessarily best? Not all open doors of opportunity are of the Lord! Some of them can be tricks of the Devil--decoys, blind alleys, red herrings, side tracks & downright disasters put there by the Enemy to try to distract you! If he can't stop you, he'll try to keep you from doing the best thing, he'll try to sidetrack you into wasting your time on something that he makes you think is good! The Enemy tries to distract your attention from the things you should be concerned about, so that you become busy with a little here & a little there until the most important thing is gone! (1Ki.20:40a)

How are you going to know the difference between the voice of God & the voice of the Devil? Well, if the voice tells you to do something bad, you know it's the Devil! If it tells you to do something good, you know it is God! This is true also if the Devil tells you to do something good but God has told you to do something better!

So don't let the Enemy distract you from doing the best thing!--God's best!

I will praise You with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. Your works, O Lord, are great, sought out by all them that have pleasure therein. Your work is honorable and glorious: And Your righteousness endures for ever. You have made Your wonderful works to be remembered: You are gracious and full of compassion. You have given meat unto them that fear You: You will be ever mindful of Your covenant. You have shown Your people the power of Your works, that You might give us the heritage of the heathen.

The works of Your hands are verity and justice; all Your commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. You have sent redemption unto Your people: You have commanded Your covenant for ever: holy and reverend is Your name. The fear of You, O Lord, is the beginning of wisdom: A good understanding have all they that do Your commandments: Your praise endures for ever.
